I live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, with my wife Elsie. We recently celebrated our 52nd Anniversary.
Born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario by a wonderful Christian family, there have been four primary loves in my life: faith, family, sports, and music. Each one shapes me in different ways, but by far, the most impactful has been my faith.
Over the years, I have been able to experience a number of careers – some very different from the others. After high school, I attended teachers' college, and began my career as an elementary, special education teacher, and then as a music teacher. Along the way, a friend and I started a music studio, which became a music store – we were the rock ‘n roll store of Kingston, Ontario in the mid to late ’70’s, selling all manner of guitars, keyboards, sound systems, drums, and brass instruments. We made it to 5 years, and
did we ever learn a lot!

And then, the Lord called Elsie and me into full-time ministry as pastors with The Salvation Army. The Army was where our families worshipped and served the Lord for several generations. After college, we led as pastors of Army congregations in Toronto, Hamilton, and London in Ontario, and then in Langley and Kamloops, British Columbia.
Along the way, I attained a Master of Arts in Christian Studies degree, from ACTS Seminary in Langley. But then, the Lord took us in a slightly different direction, which brought us to a Baptist church in Calgary. Much to our surprise, that ended too quickly, and it was onto a different path again, as we moved back to Langley, BC, and a career as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, and then with Raymond James.
An opportunity to return to full-time ministry arrived, so I worked with Power to Change, The Salvation Army in Abbotsford, BC, as a chaplain at a medium security prison, and then as a transitional pastor. Whenever the Lord opened a door, we did our best to walk through it.
I have always loved teaching, coaching, mentoring, strategic planning, and training, so when the opportunity came to join the international John Maxwell Leadership Team as a coach and trainer, I took it. I love being able to add value to people.
Elsie and I have been members of Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, BC, for the last 20 years, and I’ve been able to serve there as an Elder for the last 13. In addition, I have been a board member and now Executive Director of M2W2 prison ministry, which has as its vision, to end imprisonment one person at a time by equipping clients with the relationships and skills to live a transformed life.
